I’m Md. Siddiq Hasan, and Uponnas is my personal blog. I write about my own life, the plants around us and their names, trips I’ve taken, a bit of science now and then and the odd short story.
Most of my posts start with something small: a smell on the way home, an old tree I passed every day as a child, or a few words from a stranger that stayed with me. I write these things down before they slip away, because I think small moments say the most about how we live.
Plants are close to my heart, so you’ll find a lot of them here. I like finding out what a tree is called, where it came from and how people have used it, and then sharing that in plain words. Alongside them are trips, picnics and a few short stories and fables.
Uponnas means “novel” in Bangla. I think every life is a novel and every day is a page of it, so this is where I keep some of my pages. Most posts are written in Bangla first, and almost all of them are here in English too.
