What water teaches us

Nature has a lot to teach us. Water, for example.

Water is an amazing creation that gives life. We compare things to water all the time, because there’s no simpler example. Water teaches us so much, but we don’t understand its language, so we don’t learn. Water tells us to live together with everyone. However hard it’s hit, however bad things get, at the end of the day water is one body that can’t be split. Hit it with a stick as much as you like, divide it with a dam as much as you like, and it still flows back together into one place. Water holds no grudges and has no quarrels within itself. It stays just as it was.

Water’s sense of fairness

Now think about how fair water is. In the world of water everyone’s place is the same. But this sameness isn’t equality, it’s real equity. Depending on the height, it gathers a little more in one place and a little less in another, and it always tries to stay level. So whatever uneven, bumpy ground you put water on, it always ends up level with everyone else. Water understands fairness. Water is the true believer in equity.

Making everyone its own

Water takes everyone in very easily. It is the closest companion on earth and mixes with everyone. But even while it mixes with everyone, it never lets go of the bond within itself. That’s why everyone loves water so much. Where nothing else can live, in any place or condition, you can still find water. It’s water that gathers the uprooted and builds them into one family that can’t be broken. Water’s patience and endurance have a lot to do with that. Its kingdom has lasted because water isn’t greedy. If it had stayed as it once was, this great empire would never have begun. Highly flammable hydrogen and oxygen came together and made a calm, neutral household, and that’s where water’s stability comes from. Nobody can change that stability easily.

In a word, every quality of water is a great one, and none of them is easy to learn. You need a strong will and a steady mind to learn them. But if you can manage it, your life will have been worth living.
